Do it right or don’t do it at all

Photo by Brett Jordan on Unsplash

My husband did something the other day that really pissed me off. I won’t go into the nitty-gritty details but let’s just say that I did nothing (this time) to warrant said pissing off.

I decided it was best if I just left the room. When this kind of thing happens, I get busy cleaning out something. It’s therapeutic for me to purge things…mainly I wanted to purge HIS items.

I went to work cleaning out the enormous hoard of crap in the bathroom linen closet which houses way more things than linens. We could literally be a small pharmacy…

These monster cookies are soft and delicious, and easy to make. However, I will warn you; your stirring arm will get quite the workout!

I highly recommend you eat one a few minutes after they come out of the oven while they are still gooey and gooey and oh so yummy. Not to mention the M&Ms and chocolate chips are still a bit melty. You don’t have to tell anyone…this recipe makes a lot of cookies…no one will miss it!

I’ve been having one in the morning with my coffee. Who says cookies have to just be a snack or…

a big gray bucket of suck

SAD = Seasonal Affective Disorder
SAD = Sucky Attitude Depression

Winter is in full swing and with that brings along seasonal affective disorder (SAD) to many of us. Unfortunately, it feels just like it sounds. I’m at the point where my SAD is even sad.

February may bring a sweet Valentine’s holiday to some but it’s the very middle of the big gray bucket of suck. If cold weather isn’t bad enough itself, the rainy, snowy, and cloudy days takes us down another notch. Not to mention everything looks bleak, dreary, and dead.

Labeled as the Winter blues, I’ve found…

Hand-made quilts that have been lovingly passed down through the generations are priceless and I wouldn’t take a pretty penny for any of mine. I can’t imagine all of the history and stories tied to each one. Some are like new and some are a little tattered from use.

Mama would usually pin a small piece of paper to the back with the name of who made it. Unfortunately, there are a few that have lost that piece of paper through the years. I wish now I had asked her more questions about each quilt and its history. I look…

Performed by Nazi Tyrants

FACT:

According to the CDC, breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States. A yearly mammogram can help to detect breast cancer earlier, leading to less aggressive treatment, and a higher rate of survival. Most women typically begin having mammograms when they are around 40 years of age. If there is a history of breast cancer in your family, your doctor may suggest getting screened earlier.

EXPERIENCE:

I believe mammograms are performed by Nazi tyrants. Sure, they look all sweet and innocent, but are really sheep in wolves' clothing, based on their torture techniques.

by Doing Less of These Things

We can’t deny that 2020 was one to go down in the record books and not in a good way. People have been ready to kick it to the curb for a long time and rightly so.

Sometimes happiness can come from things we do less of or things we let go of. Instead of making resolutions that we typically drop early on and then feel like failures, let’s focus on ways we can improve and enrich our happiness on a more permanent basis. …

Securing our Safety

Conceal carry among women is increasing exponentially. Women are often targets of robbery, rape, domestic abuse, and typically stereotyped as the weaker sex. As the world continues to spiral into a more violent place, women are taking action for their self-protection. More and more are taking concealed carry classes and hitting the gun range often to be proficient should the need ever arise that they have to utilize their weapon.

With crime increasing rapidly in our country, from riots, lootings, mass shootings, and personal attacks, local gun shops have seen an increase in firearm sales recently and many from first-time…

Blah blah blah…can I get a rain check, please?

Photo by Gage Walker on Unsplash

Fact: I hate rain. The only time I don’t is when I’m sick of watering the garden by the end of the summer. Then I don’t mind a shower…as long as it’s relatively short-lived and I don’t have to get out in it. Overnight rain is even better.

Some of my friends think rain is cathartic. I don’t know where I got those friends! I think rain is depressing. And it makes me lazy. Also, when it’s raining I want to eat like a big fat goat. I’ll go through the pantry and eat everything I can find. Aaaarrrggg…then I…
